Located at the gateway to Puget Sound, Ebay Landing’s rich farmland and promising seaport lured the earliest American pioneers north of the Columbia River. Today, Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve preserves the historical, agricultural, and cultural traditions of Native and Euro-Americans, while offering exceptional opportunities for recreation as well.
This local treasure offers 554-acres of scenic, recreational, and historical opportunities along the Washington coast. For sweeping vista views, be sure to check out the Bluff Trail. While on this hike, you can usually expect to see wildlife from bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, and other coastal seabirds. In the spring and summer months, you might even see gray whales in the offshore waters.

Bald Eagle- Haliaeetus leucocephalus. This iconic raptor is seen here in what is sometimes refered to as the "horaltic pose". It is speculated that this pose is used for thermoregulation (warming or cooling of the body). It is also thought that this pose helps dry the wings on particularly damp mornings. This photo was shot earlier this summer on Keystone Spit when I was working for @wastatepks at Fort Casey State Park. #pnw #pnwwonderland #baldeagle #fortcasey #fortcaseystatepark #keystonespit #wastateparks #washingtonstateparks #parks #parklife #waparkaide #parkaide #itsallyours #protectourwild #eagle #embraceyournature #discoverdnr #wildandfree @usfws @thewdfw @washdnr @wildliferec
Sunset last night on Ebey’s Landing. Cade, Eliot and I watched the sun disappear, then I went back to shoot the stars. There were low clouds over the Olympics. It was great just to be out there listening to the waves and watch the sky on the first clear night since the new moon. — #ebeyslanding #coupeville #bluehour
