Bumbershoot: What to Expect, Where to Eat, and More

Bumbershoot — the largest music and arts festival in the Pacific Northwest — is back this Labor Day weekend.

The festival name is derived from a slang term for umbrella in the hopes that by amplifying the diverse artistic community that calls the Pacific Northwest home, we realize we’re all under the same umbrella.

Embark on a journey filled with creative talents across music, art shows, speakers, exhibitions, and food while the festival runs from August 30 to August 31 at the Seattle Center.

Music Lineup

Offering an eclectic musical lineup, attendees can anticipate everything from indie to rock to hip-hop, electronic to folk, and everything in between. Headliners for this year's festival include Weezer, Car Seat Headrest, Bright Eyes, Aurora, Janelle Monáe, and Sylvan Esso.

With multiple stages hosting simultaneous performances, attendees can curate their experience and explore other acts, which include The Budos Band, Indigo De Souza, Tank and the Bangas, Digable Planets, Tennis, and Saba. 

Artist Lineup

Explore the wonderful world of art. From pro wrestling to indigenous fashion, Bumbershoot offers an array of talents and interests aimed at nurturing creativity. Art installations and interactive displays transform the festival grounds into a mystical wonderland, including #TheBLACKOUT, Aerial Arts Village, Avery Tien, Bumbermania, Cat Circus, Dan Hurwitz, DOLLHOUSE, Dope Planet, Gravity Park, Skate Like A Girl, Vanishing Seattle, and more. 

Culinary Lineup

Catering to foodies, the festival lines up gourmet food trucks and stalls representing cuisines from around the globe. No matter what you are craving, Bumbershoot is likely to have something to satisfy your appetite.

When you’re done rocking out for the day, grab a drink or two, food, or all of the above from Kro Bar, The Bine, and The Hop and Hound.

Pro Tip: If you’re looking to go winery hopping with friends or family in Woodinville Wine Country when you're not at Bumbershoot, reserve a King County Metro Community Van. Rides are only $2.75 per passenger, and you can plan the route yourself!
