Woodinville is home to more than 130 wineries — no wonder it’s hard to choose a favorite! Instead, we’re highlighting four hidden gem wineries with unique stories and delicious offerings made from fruit harvested right here in Washington state.
A side project of Matthews Winery, Jaine Wines was created to honor the family matriarch, Mary Jane, who was world-traveled and cherished everyday gatherings with family and friends.
Jaine’s curated collection features four wines that are “hand-harvested from sustainable sites and crafted with minimal intervention”: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Rosé.
“Our mission is to help people realize their own adventures both in wine and this awe-inspiring region of the world in which we are fortunate to live.”
Glacier View Cellars specializes in hand-crafted, vegetarian-friendly wines. Its small production allows its winemakers to try different wine-making techniques and experiment with varieties. The end result? Wines like their 2017 Orange Muscat, a crisp and delicately perfumed wine, and 2015 Lake 22, which showcases flavors of blackberries, red plums, and toffee.
After years of studying winemaking and working for different wineries in Hungary and California, Sandor Faludi started his own winery in his small garage, making wine and beers for his neighbors in a speakeasy-like environment. Since then, he’s brought his expertise and scrappy mentality to Woodinville — and everyone’s invited to try Prohibition Cellars’ wines!
Founded by friends in 2013, Three of Cups Winery gets its name from the eponymous tarot card, which symbolizes “conviviality, abundance, joy and friendship — all things that happen naturally with wine.”
The winery produces its wines in small batches, using fruit from vineyards across the state, including those in Red Mountain and Walla Walla Valley.
