July 4th and barbecue go together like summer and the PNW sun! Get your barbecue fix at one of the best barbecue joints in the Pacific Northwest and host a picnic with loved ones at one of Bothell’s many parks. The restaurant specializes in pulled pork, ribs, and brisket, and all of them boast a mouthwatering flavor, thanks to owner David Hayward’s unique mix of mesquite, alder, hickory, and cherry wood pellets.
And don’t sleep on the sides — Carolina Smoke’s Collard Greens and Smoked Mac-n-Cheese are just as good as the mains!
Toast to America’s independence by buying a round of craft brews at Bothell’s beer-centric watering holes. Visit The Hop & Hound and enjoy a variety of pilsners, stouts, ales, and more from around the country.
If you’d love to people-watch during the big July 4th weekend, head to The Bine Beer and Food, make yourself comfortable at one of their picnic tables out front, and order one (or a few!) of the 27 craft brews on its rotating tap list.
And if you’re looking for handcrafted beers made with Washington ingredients, look no further than Beardslee Public House. The restaurant brews its craft beers on-site! And if you’re craving comfort food, Beardslee Public House boasts an extensive menu that features dishes made from scratch with high-quality, seasonal, and fresh ingredients.
If you need a break from the July 4th crowds, we recommend biking along the Sammamish River. Ride over the historic bridge at the Park at Bothell Landing and continue your journey along the Sammamish River Trail for the most scenic ride.

Though Bothell doesn’t put on its own fireworks show, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them in nearby cities! After a day in Bothell, head into Seattle for Seafair Summer Fourth, one of the nation’s best fireworks shows. Stake a spot at Gas Works Park for a hilltop view or Lake Union Park for a darker sky view — schedule coming soon.
Another fantastic, can’t-miss fireworks show is the Thunder On the Bay Fireworks show in Everett. The 20-minute show is set to launch over Port Gardner Bay and its soundtrack will be broadcast on the radio.
