The Pacific Northwest is home to thousands of marvelous lakes and waterfalls with Bothell centrally located. Whether you’re looking for a swimming hole, waterfall, or a crystal-clear lake, Washington has it all. Pack your camera and swimming trunks and head to the water.
Take a short hike to one of Washington’s most stunning waterfalls. It’s an easy and majestic 1.3-mile hike down to the falls and back up and is perfect for all skill levels. This fall is well-known and free, so come early to beat the crowd.
Lake Washington is the second-largest natural lake in Washington. It stretches about 22 miles from Kenmore, only a few minutes from Bothell, to Renton. The lake is rife with outdoor opportunities from boating, fishing, windsurfing, and walking along the beach. Spend a day here and you’ll forget you’re near the city.
Carve out a day and head to Gold Bar to witness the beauty of Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls — and make sure to bring a big lunch! You’ll work up an appetite on this trek. Hike 2.5 miles to see the waterfall at Bridal Veil Falls. Afterward, and only accessible by a 7-mile hike round trip, make your way to the spectacular emerald lake, Lake Serene where you can enjoy lunch on “lunch rock” as you take in this scenic gem.
Find respite at Lake Sammamish, near Bellevue and Issaquah. Public access is found at Lake Sammamish State Park, only 20 minutes from Bothell. Enjoy leisurely activities like fishing, kayaking and swimming while boating, windsurfing and water skiing are popular.
Visit the center of an oasis of alpine wetland, Lake 22. Make the 5.4 mile hike (round trip) and you’ll be rewarded with a stunning body of water and excellent views of Mount Pilchuck. The journey in itself is magical passing through the greenery, small streams, and spectacular wildlife.
